Beware Of Dangerous Destiny Killers
The devil actively seeks to destroy those with great destinies.
You were not created to be ordinary;
God has a powerful purpose for your life.
Beware of these traps that can derail your destiny:
1. Illicit Sex
The devil often uses sexual temptation to derail destinies. For instance:
Joseph
In Potiphar’s house
Joseph resisted the advances of Potiphar’s wife (Genesis 39:11-12). Falling into that sin would have ended his dreams.
Avoiding such temptations is crucial to fulfilling your destiny.
Samson
His incredible strength was undone by a relationship with a woman outside God's will (Judges 16:21).
He lost his power and became a prisoner to his enemies.
Action Point
Resist any form of sexual immorality. Pray, fast, and seek God's help to overcome such desires.
2. Greed
Greed is another trap. The Bible warns, “The love of money is the root of all evil” (1 Timothy 6:10). Examples include:
Gehazi
Elisha's servant could have inherited a powerful anointing, but his greed for wealth destroyed his destiny.
Action Point
Trust that God’s plan for your life is greater than any material gain.
Avoid dishonest means of acquiring wealth.
3. Laziness
Laziness slowly destroys destinies. Ecclesiastes 9:11 reminds us that time and chance come to everyone.
If you are lazy, you may miss your moment of opportunity.
Action Point
Stay diligent.
Work hard and avoid oversleeping. Your efforts today are building blocks for your future and the destinies of others.
4. Gluttony
Uncontrolled eating habits can weaken you and divert your focus from spiritual growth.
Daniel
He and his friends refused to defile themselves with the king’s food, and God honored them for their discipline (Daniel 1).
Esau
He traded his birthright for a meal, losing his place in God’s lineage (Genesis 25:29-34).
Action Point
Eat only what is necessary.
Avoid excessive consumption so you can stay spiritually alert and physically strong.
Conclusion
These destiny killers—illicit sex, greed, laziness, and gluttony—must be overcome with intentionality.
Focus on God’s purpose, remain disciplined, and seek His strength to avoid these pitfalls.
Your destiny is too important to be compromised.

Examine your life today.
Identify areas where you might be vulnerable, pray for God’s grace, and take steps to align yourself with His purpose.
